MEET YOUR RETREAT ORGANIZERS

Join Amber Joliat (Dance, Yoga, Pilates and Breathwork Expert) and Danielle Binns (Certified Nutritionist and Wellness Expert) for a 3-day Joyful Retreat for Moms, designed to help parents find calm amidst the chaos, relaxation without distractions, and inner joy that you can bring back into your daily life.

And they are thrilled to meet you!

Amber Joliat

Amber Joliat is a trained dancer and artist, and has been a teacher of movement for 25+ years. In 2010, she created The Misfitmethod™ out of a desire to move with strength and grace. Her method has been described as a transformative journey of the self, tapping into resilience within each of us. Inspired by the nature of Dance and Breath, rooted in yoga, informed by pilates, and driven by music, each class is an experience. She believes that tapping into joy is a superpower. Especially as a mother of a 3 year old, reclaiming joy has been tremendously healing.

Danielle has been practicing nutrition for over a decade, which started with overcoming PCOS and her daughter’s eating struggles. As a mom of three girls she gets the struggle. Life with an extremely picky eater and stressful mealtimes took the joy out of food for her.  Today Danielle helps families around the world transform mealtimes from frustrating to fun, and shows parents how to raise healthy eaters.  She also consults companies, schools, runs wellness workshops, and speaks at global conventions.

Personal single bed in a quad bunk bed with ensuite on the lower level. Has access to walk out.

PACKING LIST

  • comfortable practice clothing
  • yoga mat, if you prefer your own. Studio is stocked with mats, meditation shawl, eye pillow, and any other items.
  • water bottle (glass bottles and open vessels are not permitted in the studio)
  • seasonal clothing for outdoor activities
  • bathing suit (note: bath and beach towels are supplied)
  • walking/hiking shoes
  • sunscreen, sunglasses and hat
  • bug repellant 
  • toiletries (ensuite bathrooms are stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner).
  • medications (medications stored in the guest fridge are your responsibility).
  • ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones (if you are a light sleeper)
  • house slippers (Bloom is a shoe-free venue)
  • journal and pen
  • a good book or three
  • other hobbies (knitting, painting, drawing, colouring, etc)
  • minimal technology (Wifi is available but we highly recommend leaving your work at home)

We strongly recommend packing light and leaving valuables at home or stowed in the glove box of your car.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS

Bloom on Loughborough Lake is located in Eastern Ontario. Our lakeside location is at 1425 Rutledge Road, South Frontenac, ON. There are many ways to reach Bloom:

BY CAR

We are a 25-minute drive from Kingston, less than 2 hours from Ottawa, and roughly 3 hours from both Toronto and Montreal. Map your directions here. When you arrive at 1425 Rutledge Road, you will see a limestone house at the front of the property—please pass the house and continue along the private laneway for 2 kms until you arrive at Loughborough Lake. Expect to pass ponds, marshlands and forest enroute.

BY AIR

International guests may fly into Ottawa’s Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW), Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), or Montréal’s Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Ottawa is our closest international airport. Kingston Airport (YGK) has daily scheduled service to YYZ.

BY TRAIN

VIA Rail provides frequent train service to Kingston, which is located along the Québec- Windsor Corridor. Plan your travel by train here.

BY BUS

Megabus connects Kingston to Montreal and Toronto, as well as a number of other cities not serviced by train. Book your bus here.

BY UBER

An Uber from Kingston is typically less than $50. The fare may be shared by up to 3 passengers.
